Gardiner & DVP closed

It's been a hard working weekend. We had a garage sale on Saturday and got rid of a lot of junk in our house and garage.

Yea! More room for my stuff!

So papa and mamma took me and my Thomas and train friends out for a ride early on Sunday.

It was supposed to rain but it held off.
If it did rain. There's no way we were heading out.

There were lots of bikes all around. Never seen so many special bikes and people in spandex shorts.

Hmmm..maybe some people shouldn't be wearing spandex.

It was the Becel Ride for Heart and we were doing this ride for our cousin and friend.
That's right! This one was for little Conner and Ron S.

The Gardiner Expwy and DVP were closed just for bikes!
Good thing mamma packed all this food. There was hardly anything at the pitstops except for granny smith apples and water.

Mama made sure to load up the trailer with lots of water at the pit stop. Just so papa wouldn't get thirsty especially going up the hills.

We actually saw a couple of accidents on our ride. Right at the on ramp at Jameson there was a crash. Then as we were riding down the hill to head up the DVP. Tresa saw a kid dislocate his shoulder as he flipped his bike.

Then just before we headed up from the DVP back onto the Gardiner there was another wipe out. But ambulances and EMS folks were there to take them to the hospital with some free becel margarine and bagels.

At least they were wearing their helmets. Although for some folks, not sure if there was a lot of brain to protect.

It was really tiring riding in the trailer. I think papa had a good workout too.

Glad the wind was with us coming back home.

We ended up getting some freebies when we finished the ride. We got a lunch and free cottage cheese, buttered bagels and shortbread cookies - yummy!

Actually we finished the ride twice! Well first time we didn't know where we were going and I led us right through the finish line. Then we asked where do we go to start the ride?

There were TV cameras there so maybe we'll be on local tee-dee news.
It's pouring outside now though. I just finished cutting the lawn and hopefully it washes away some of that poop that some ferrel cat left for me. Damit.
