Phase 2 Father's Day

Rules were relaxing as the Summer Solstice was rolling in.   Circle of 10 and Social Circles and Bubbles... There were new rules for us Ontarians.
There are more rules for Torontonians.  but hey... stay safe, it's nice out.

We had a great Phase2Phather's day weekend (big thanks R&J).    I was even going to get a tent.  But good thing Tresa nixed that thought.  We would have been eaten alive.  Still my hands are a bit itchy and swollen, but better today than Monday.

Kieran had a tough weekend.  Mtb and then waterskiing.  He's still recovering.  He's a little sore.  Actually so am I, so if I'm sore, he must feel like he went 15 rounds with a pro boxer.

As long as you stayed away from the cottage locals source of food, gas and drink you'd be safe from getting lynched by caning or run over by a walker.   Well to be fair they didn't want Cidiots coming in and were taking matters into their own canes.

As long as you maintained a safe distancing and hand hygiene, then all was good.   Not much more you can do.   This isn't the only virus in the world today.  However it is the most publicized today.   It seems though that it's newsworthiness is fading.   No longer are we glued to our screens looking at numbers.

The US will always be Numero Uno.   Nothing you can do about that.  For a first world nation.  They just seem to be in a league of their own.   I hear it from people all over the world in our travels.  Take that for what it is.   It's just how it is over there.

Getting on UP...without a face plant

4 short years after the kitchen was finished.  This window is finished.   Uncertain of how to do it, plus money is always a factor.  What we tried and liked what we did for the windows in the laundry room that is under reno, so we did the same method up here in the kitchen and it turned out really nice and sleek and clean.

Not these 4 pieces of solid wood planks.  This was so I wouldn't see the 2x4 framing.  I think i did that months after we were complete in the kitchen.  That was because I didn't want to see the aluminum foil backsplash here protecting the open end of the drywall.  But i was now tired of seeing the gaps and shims.

They weren't even nailed in.   And that was on purpose.  It would be easier to move forward if I didn't put any trim.   We just needed to be careful.  But as I saw more things being put on the window sill.  I figured it should be finished.

We were going to do this in the same material as the counter, but unsure as that would be a lot of 1 material.  At least this gives us the look but with the flexibility to change it easier.

I saved 1 board and sanded it down and it just floats on the sill.  That way that board can get wrecked and I can easily clean it up and/or put a new one in.

Even Kevin likes the window.

Happy Father's Day....we are all getting slower.
this is my spirit animal.  if he will have me...
