Purple Bondo

How come whenever I gotta go somewhere there's a big dump of snow. Like it's pretty and everything, but hey quit it already.

We were supposed to get to the fracture clinic at 7am, but I didn't finish shovelling until 7:15am. And I started at 6:30am. And so we didn't get to the clinic until just before 9am.
I thought it would be another all day outing. But we were done in a few hours.

The plaster splint they put on the previous day was pretty good, it reduced the amount of Kieran's discomfort. He was even telling us that his arm was better at one point, but it was the uninjured arm he was talking about. The sling was bothering him too, and so we didn't put it back on. It was preventing him from playing with his trains properly.

So the diagnosis was the same as yesterday, that there was no fracture, the x-rays didn't show anything. The doctor said there may possibly be a micro fracture in the radial bone close to his elbow. But it's inconclusive from the x-ray.
The other thing was that most of his elbow is made of cartilage and there could be some damage there. Either of these reasons could be causing his 'ouchy'.

Kieran said his hand hurts too - not really being able to squeeze my finger without pain. Twisting his forearm around it's axis also was painful.

He won't even let me put a mitten on his right hand.

So the decision was to cast his arm so that it would prevent him from banging it around and let the cartilage and or whatever, heal and reduce his discomfort.

So we had to wait in the waiting room again until they could do his cast.

But we were seen fairly quickly and we only had to wait 45 mins before it was our turn to get a cast done.

He chose the colour. I thought the only choice of colour was white. From the box, I saw pink, red, green and even camouflage green fiberglass. So mama was afraid he would choose pink or green. But he ended up choosing a colour she can work with in terms of matching with clothing.

So we go back on Feb 22nd to get the cast taken off.
