2012 The Cup tourney

It was all smiles now.  But it was war after dinner.
Team Regifter  vs   Team Goodwill Costco Groupon

We instituted an updated playoff schedule, using the 2 - 3 - 1  - 1 format which is typical now.  New format or not the Regifters clicked on all cylinders to win convincingly in Game 1.  11-6

Confidence was high for the Regifters even though no one these days plays games on a CRT tube.  That's so last century.  That's what you get when you play on the oppositions turf.  Crap.

But The Cup champions are made by winning 4 games not 1.

Team GCG were in shambles.  Needing to review video and look at other in disbelief at the way they were beaten.

Game 2 was a look in the mirror and ask themselves if they were ready.  And respond they did.  GCG won 5-6.

Their strategy was working.  Opening up an early lead in Gm 3.  The Regifters were frustrated, talking to themselves hoping for an answer to the GCG attack.

Gm 3 went to GCG 7-6
Gm 4 was a must win for the Regifters.  But down 3-0 in the first period, it wasn't looking good. But somehow found a way to come back and win 6-7.

Team GCG was not happy with how they blew a 3 goal lead.  Upset with their lack of killer instinct they regrouped for Game 5.  Wanting to avenge their loss in the previous game.
Again they quickly established a lead.   Up 4-1 in the second.  Relentless they kept coming.  Cruising to a dominating win.  But near the end the Regifters managed to slow them down.  Maybe this defensive strategy will carry to game 6.

Gm 5: GCG 6-1

And it did. This game was tight.  Regifters were up mid way in the 3rd by 1 goal.
But a cheap goal tied it up.  Momentum had swung.  Team GCG could feel the Regifters get frustrated, especially the main Regifter.  And with a few minutes left they got the go ahead.

Gm 6: GCG 3-2

It was no fun to lose, but it was fun to get together.

If he could, I bet he'd even regift his kid.

But the Clublink bag was great, I was able to put all the other regifted stuff in there and not drop it on the slippery driveway.
I didn't even see the hotel lotion and toothbrush still in the wrapper until the next day.

It was nice seeing the kiddies and the wives.  If we didn't do this every year, we'd see each other so rarely.

This is what friendships are about - tacky gifts.

Keep the chopsticks for next year along with the toilet ring.

One person's trash is another person's treasure.  We have lots of treasure in the garage to pass on to these guys.
