We was Wong'ed

This was Kieran's first time as a participant of a Dragon Boat regatta. He was an honorary member of the Wongs.
But it was almost like we were a part of a protest for the homeless. It was the middle of June and it was freezing cold.
We should've started a bon-fire to keep warm.

And for some of us it felt like we had been there all night. Like Suzanne. She was beat.

She could've used some Tim Horton's brew.

Dave was so into the spirit that he only brought the shirt on his back and that's it. Which is why he's got Suzanne's Scooby Doo blanket. She's gonna have to wash that thing on the washer's 'Sterilize' setting.
Make sure there's no skid marks after it comes out of the wash.

Then it was Eddie's turn, he was even starting a petition to help the homeless.

While Andy was editing the pre-nupt he was given, because he has nothing. He was calculating how much stuff he could get just in case he got the boot and ended up being homeless himself.

Then it was time to bring in the Police! Cuz we was ROBBED of the championship!
After posting the fastest time of the day and winning all of our heats and decisively winning the final race.

Hey even the local newspaper reporter was convinced that since we'd won the last race of the day, that we were the Cambridge Riverfest champions for 2006.

She was congratulating the team and interviewing Helen and even took our team photo to post in the local paper.

But you see, the organizers weren't coming over to congratulate us and hand us the champions prize. They gave us 3rd place overall. We were all stunned.
Caroline was tapping her heels 3 times and whispering to herself "there's no place like Chinatown, there's no place like Chinatown."
I think she thought it was a bad, bad dream.

All you have to do is look to the Olympics to see how a proper race is done. It's not the fastest time in the heats that determines the winner. It's the winner of the final heat, because that should be the top three qualifiers.

After arguing our case, it was up to us to take it on the chin and take the high road home. I think these organizers were in the sun too long, cuz their brains were a little fried.

Well maybe the Wong's Imperial Dragons will still be listed as champions in the local Cambridge paper anyways. I didn't see the reporter around anywhere to hear the final results.
