Jenkinson's Boardwalk at Point Pleasant

It was a warm and sunny day for a mini amusement park outing.Time to take the kiddies out so they can quit fighting of this car or that train and get them tired and go to bed early. Ya that last wish...not a chance.
This is Jenkinson's boardwalk down at Point Pleasant, NJ. It's a really great place for the kids to go to ride rides and play games and eat junk.

It's not too large. But for little people this is like the CNE. It's right by the beach, if you want to play in the water. There's a boardwalk. It's a really great place for kids. On their site it says "the magic of summer".
Ya...watch your hard earned dollars disappear before your eyes.

Kieran was old enough and more importantly he was just tall enough to ride on the rides. 36 inches is the minimum height on a lot of these rides. So as long as he's about the size of a dwarf and taller than a midget he was good to go. He even got to ride on his very first roller coaster. We rode on it 3 times.

There's lots of junk food around. It's no wonder that the US is quickly becoming the world's largest nation.
Pizza was alright, actually pretty good. I just didn't have time to eat it all cause Kieran wanted to go on the train again.

I had this bacon, cheese, sausage and broccoli. Crust was really good. And it was a massive slice. But of course you pay for it. It was $13.25 for that and a gatorade and a bottle of water.
They had the usual fare, funnel cakes (deep fried dough with powdered sugar). They had italian ice and soft-serve ice cream and shakes.

French fries, cotton candy, and massive pretzels. And you can wash it down with lots of sugar infused soda pop. Then there was something called Zeppoles or something. Whatever it was it was deep fried in summer old oil. Just like everything else.

You know those carnie games where you use a mechanical grabber to pick up a toy animal filled with combustible stuffing . Well they had them here too! But instead you can win iTouch's, COACH bags, GPS, iPods, Apple computers, laptops, gameboys, Wii's, XBOX's and flame propellant stuffed animals. They were 2 bucks a try. But it was not as easy as it looked.

It looked so easy but it's like winning a lottery. I gave it a shot.
And then decided to save my money for the bubble hockey, soft-serve petroleum concocted ice cream and watched others try to pick up the COACH handbags and iTouch's and may be learn from there attempts.

There was a father there with there kids and I was really rooting for them and a couple of times I thought I was going to witness someone winning.

But...it didn't happen. The prize always fell out. Giving you the sense that you could do it if you put in another 2 dollars, and another, and another. Pretty soon you could have actually bought that COACH bag or iTouch or new car, house. It really gets you excited. But again...nothing good comes easy.

All in all I had a bit of headache from the sun or the spinning rides or the roller coaster, or the diesel fumes from the train, but the kids had fun. That's what counts.

Can you see the look on my face. I thought tito Chris was going to spin me round like a record spewing my pizza all over the place.
