Someone stole my name!

We were walking in the area yesterday. We walked from Glenlake and High Park Ave, down through High Park, down to Lakeshore, past Sunnyside Pool up Parkside, across Garden Ave to Roncessvalles, across Howard Park, back into High Park to Grenadier Cafe (for some fries and gravy that Tresa was craving for) and then back to the car at Glenlake and High Park ave.

It only took us about 2 hours or so.

I felt like we were on vacation.
This is what we do on our vacations - powerwalk...walk for miles and miles and miles, sometimes aimlessly. Go into every store looking for something in particular and coming out with nothing. Because it was the wrong colour, too small, chipped, too expensive, not sure there might be something better, wrong quantity. What else?

Well we were in the Roncessvales neighbourhood and this house this retired dentist was selling for over 600K a few years ago was now a spa. Sukha

Hey, the stole my name - I thought.

The place was huge. And eclectic.

This area is becoming much nicer and more quaint than the Bloor west. Mainly because the Bloor West Village was filling in with franchise restaurants and stores. The euros that made the village what it was were getting pushed out. The developers saw a trend and decided to make it their own - and it was bad.

No more Cheese Boutique, no more Future Bakery, no more Zsa Zsa's. In come the franchises. The money. The increase in taxes.

Too bad. Real Estate developers just see something good and can't leave well enough alone. They have to get their grubby money hungry hands into it and ruin it. Too bad.
Too bad for the locals.
