Gaffney Lads brew tour

I can hardly wait for this place to not look like this place any more.
I still remember the old gas station that is now the PetroCanada on the corner was an eyesore, now it's this place.

Our area is undergoing change.  And it's great.  Some are more noticeable than others.

St Clair Ave W is a pretty busy strip.  From Jane all the way to Keele.  We're not fans of the increased traffic.  But there's some good change going on.

The Stockyards to the east of us, the Walmart strip to the west of us are examples of good upgrades.  I mean our area isn't the greatest but it's not the worst neighbourhood in TO.

There's definitely better ones out there, but there's also worse ones.

This old Vietnamese grocery store, which I thought was ok then became a Chinese grocery store which stank.  Is now becoming the new site of High Park Brewery in Spring of 2018.
The owners said May time frame.
There's 5 partners in this venture.  None of them were ever in the beer biz, they just love beer.  They hired a brewmaster and started planning their own brewery. And the plans look amazing.  I can't wait for it to open.
It's a big space, there's a basement with conveyers and everything.  I didn't see the basement, but then I wasn't interested in seeing the basement of an ol Chinese Grocery store.

Who knows what's down there.
Could be some illegal immigrants.

A neighbour - Bill - organized the first of many Gaffney Lads beer tours.  We have neighbours and one neighbour that moved but came out to join us.  So it was pretty cool to see everyone.

The tasting at High Park Brewer was awesome.  They gave us pretty big cups of their brews for us to provide some feedback, and then there were refills.  I couldn't make it to the other 2 brew pubs in our immediate vicinity but I will hopefully get out there the next time.

Looking forward to when High Park Brewery is open, but they got a lot of work to do.  And a lot of brewing.  I'll be there to taste for sure!

Not sure if Bill had many tastings when he made these, but it's supposed to be Gaffney.

But that's his house on there.
