New kitts on the block

Keetcha the daycare cat had another litter of kitties.

This is her second litter. The father was some big black cat.

I saw them the morning they were born and were they tiny. These little ones are a few weeks old now. I wished I had taken a photo back then.

I didn't have my trusty canon stealth camera with me, but did the best I could with my Razr. I took a bunch just to make sure that I could get a few good ones to show Tresa.

Kieran named this one Blackie. There's 2 all black kitties, the other he named Scratchy.

These are the two he wanted to bring home. I told him to ask mamma. I said mamma would say 'no' since he's allergic to cats.

There's 5 in total. Can see all of dem?
There's two black ones, one all orange one, and one orange with a white belly and one white and black/grey.
They just fed, so they're all sleeping now.

Earthhour 2008

We met up with Marika and some of the other kids from daycare and tried to do our small part for Earth hour 2008.

We headed to the bloor west where others in the neighbourhood gathered and walked the village strip for the 8-9pm Earth hour.

It was cold..brr.

At the end of the hour we warmed up at a Timothy's cafe and watched the kids goof around, hoping none of them bump into someone with hot cups of coffee or tea or chocolate.

Don't you hate it when this happens

Ever put the pants on wrong?

It's easier than it looks to do. Now, getting out is a different story.

Of COURSE! We got like a huge dump of snow on Saturday. We needed to get out there and shovel the white stuff.

Kieran needed to get outside and help his papa shovel. He certainly can't do it with two legs in one pant leg.

My canon A610. The lens was a little dirty though and I had to run the AVI through a converter to downsize the file from 400MB to 45MB. So the quality of the image is reduced. But it's a smaller output size. So that's ok.

Winter yahs

We did what we could to fight the Mid winter blahs.

First it was Valentine's Day. When my valentine made this really nice dinner.

And we enjoyed some Rose Regalia wine that we'd been saving for a special occasion. Yummy.

What was the occasion? None of us were sick for once.

We we went to the cottage to enjoy the fresh air so that we could wake up from the winter hibernation state we were in.

We even rode a luge sled direct from the old country. I was impressed with how much load it could handle.
I guess it's to be expected since the folks there tend to be much bigger than the Asians. You could have put a whole filipino family on it, or one Slovenian grandpa.

We watched the Leafs keep their playoff hopes alive with a win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

We went to a model railroad club to see what these guys were doing all this time in the basement of a building.

This photo is a scaled down replica of what was a CNR station and is now the LCBO building that's at Yonge & Davisville.

And we had one super busy day where we went back to St. Joe's and got the head smashing cast off. Kieran liked the cast and asked for a bigger one.

I got him up early to get him to the fracture clinic just shortly after it opened. But we ended up waiting 90 minutes just to get the cast off.

I'm surprised he didn't go postal when they brought out the circular saw to take the cast off.

We then rode the TTC to the downtown passport office to renew his passport so that we could get it in time for our Germany trip in May.
It was another 45-60 min wait. It was packed full of immigrants getting their documents. So I managed to squeeze in a conference call and eat some lunch. We missed our number by 2 spots. But the system they have at the passport office is really good now. You tell them and they'll give you a new number which will make you the next one in the queue. I suppose, that way you don't have to wait there all day. You can come back around the time they said you'd be called up.

We got his passport photo done the day before. And we had to make sure he didn't smile, because only terrorists smile.

He finally fell asleep just when we reached Bathurst station on our way back to the village. I eventually got him to daycare just after lunch.

And we even tried listening to the Backyardigans CD we got from the Corus folks we visited, to pass the time until the spring thaw.
