A Nacho Libre Day made for a Chexican

These aren't the pearly gates.  Or any sort of gates to anywhere hot either.  I made these doors today.  Something I wanted to get done today.  And it turned out pretty well.  A few glitches here and there but it all worked out and ready to be finished.

With a lot guidance, advice, recommendations from friends and family I was able to build and mount these doors for Tresa's dad's woodshed.  I think he was tired of the tarp that is there on hanging on the right.

At first I thought to have a sliding barn door, but almost everyone I suggested that too said not to do it.  It was going to be overkill for what it was for.  It's a woodshed.  I just thought it'd work out better.  But people were right and this was not that hard to do either.

It still needs to be finished, but the door frames are in place and Tresa's dad can finish it the way he wants it to be.  And I can spend my time up there riding my bike.  Which is all I could ask for.

I didn't realize it was Mexican food theme going on this weekend.  I don't mind, we love real Mexican food.  Not that 'run to the border' crap.  The real enchilada stuff.  It's hard to find good Mexican food places.  Not sure why that is.

In any case.  It was a treat! I love tacos, fajitas, nachos...!  It is a lot of prep as there can be lots of slicing and dicing and ingredients.  I appreciate ALL that effort!  It was yummy in my tummy!  There was a side order of banana dolce leche cake - a la L.R.!

It was a birthday weekend and I didn't really know what to expect and I didn't ask and whatever I could do not to mess it all up was a good thing.

Which is kinda why I built the doors on the woodshed this weekend.  It kept me out of the hairs of those making all the plans and I was productive!

It was just another reason to do stuff together.   Which is something we have been starved of for the past 2yrs now.

Everyone has been really careful.  This is how the new world is now. It doesn't mean you have to stop living.  It just means you need to be more careful and respectful of others.

We can all enjoy day to day living.  In a new normal kind of way.  Things are slowly moving again.  We just need to be patient and vigilant.

And we don't need much technology to enjoy a beautiful weekend.  The previous 24hrs with a country wide telecom outage proved that you can either choose to go out and enjoy the real world, or continue to be frustrated in a virtual one.

It's up to you.  Complaining won't make it better.  It actually makes it worse for everyone.

This was one of my presents!  And I didn't even pay for it.  I would have seen the charge on my card.

What a nice surprise!

Here's the proof.

I could kinda tell something was going on cuz K was calling Tresa over to help him with something.  Something he only wanted her to see.

Which is a good thing cuz I gotta pay for this sucker.  Finally after a few years I get all my teeth back.

This one has to be assembled too.  With a ratchet

What better way to finish off a weekend fit for a Chexican than Nachos for dinner.
I should have taken it before we devoured most of it.  But hey.  At least you know it was really great!

What a nice week and weekend.
