Christening Borromeo Clan style

Yep it was the Filipino's getting together again. Someone's always pregnant and planning a christening at least a few times a year.

We somehow got everyone that was at the church into the photo. Not sure how, without a wide angle lens. But that's most of us. And there were lots of people missing. Grace is in there too.
Right behind Jen's big head. Jen's head must be big. Cuz Grace is Teen's kid.

Wow I need a haircut. I'm starting to look like a q-tip.
Here's Grace...
Doesn't she look exactly like Teen? Except white. Oh ya, Teen's white-ish too.
Same facial expressions.
I smell deh-deh milk!

Soon the kids of the kids will be having babies. Hopefully within wedlock. Living in sin...is bad, but socially acceptable. It's always good to know if you can get along under the same roof. Spending thou$and$ of dollar$ on a wedding and then finding out you can't stand each other is a pretty good reason to find out sooner rather than later.

Although I was starving, and sometimes okay food tastes better, the food was really good. The venue was really nice. Up near Angus Glen. This community center was so nice. Kids were able to run around free. So it was a really good choice. Good job Teen.

This wasn't some live art sculpture called "the line up for the toilet".
They were playing their PSP's. Carrying on the tradition of Noy - Lode Runner champion. World Tour 1988.

C is for COOKIE, that's good enuf for me.

Eat these cookies and you'll be more organic than ever. More because you won't be able to eat just one, or 6 or 8. I almost ate all 12 of them. I was doing the honourable thing and saving Tresa from sabotaging her South Beach diet, by eating as many of them as I could in the least amount of time.

Our friends Patrick and Monique made them and I enjoyed every organic bite. She's only baking organic cookies and pies. So if you want some...she's actually selling them.

They are chummy in my tummy.

Do your job Jade!

Happy Birthday to JADE!
She's actually old enough now to date boy that tell her where to go.

This year, she would like either the missing chromosome for her birthday.

Or 10 layers of winter clothing so she's nice and toasty while waiting for the bus.

The stuff she had before doesn't fit any more.

Santa Claus is coming...finally

It was the day of the Santa Claus parade here in Toronto. It was really chilly this morning and so I was thinking that Kieran and I would be freezing cold at the parade. But the sun came out and warmed us up.

We had taken the TTC down to Christie. I had figured that we'd be standing for most of the time and probably a good idea to bring the baby backpack. And when we got out at Christie it was a madhouse! Well by Toronto standards. Nothing compared to say New York. But there were lots of people. The floats were ready to go. And there was no way that Kieran was going to see anything at Christie.

So we headed east along the back alleys til we were a block west of Bathurst. Directly across from Honest Ed's. We were about 4th row from the street so it wasn't so bad. There wasn't anyone blocking Kieran's view of the floats.

We even saw a Filipino Marching Band from Vaughn.
I'm surprised they were out shopping at Vaughn Mills.

The only thing that was wearing me out was the load on my back. I could feel the extra years worth of food he's packed on. My shoulders were feeling it and I was counting down the hour. I had read that the parade goes for about an hour.

But Kieran was pretty patient. He kept asking where's Santa, papa? I kept saying he's coming. I was worried he would start freaking out. But he stayed for the whole thing. I was the one getting impatient looking at my watch.

A father beside me said that it's best to be at the start of the parade or as close to it as possible because down the route there's more and more delays.

We were basically about 6 mins down the road from Christie Station.

The 4th or 3rd last one was from Canadian Tire and it had Santa and Mrs. Claus, so that just was a tease.

When I saw it, I thought. That was it? Wow. It wasn't that impressive. But oh well. It doesn't matter. But that wasn't it. Darn it. My shoulders were sore.

Thank God! Finally after almost 80 mins. Santa and his reindeer finally came.

Woo HOO!

Kieran was in awe. I think. Or he was needing a nap and hungry.
I was needing a nap and I was hungry.

It was then every man, and kid for himself. Head for the nearest TTC station.
I was surprised that I didn't even have to pay to get back on. The guy just lets us in through the gate.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Bacani's vs. the World

It was a beautiful day and Chris was finally going to see something other than Scarborough. And not even the nice parts of Scarborough.

He was in Mid-town. Young and Eligible (Yonge and Eglinton) area. But most of these 'young and eligibles' were coming to the parks with their kids. So they're no longer young and sometimes not eligible. Sometimes they were 'older and attached' or 'older and separated with dependents'. Not always a good combination.

But I digress.
Let's focus on the positive.

It was the Bacani's vs. the World.
Not all of them came, because then we'd have a whole league.

The World team were at a disadvantage being a man down for the first hour and a half. And the Bacani's were sticking it to the World team. Then the call-ups came with the little person in tow.

It was the Bacani's vs the World + a half.
And the Bacani's were sent packing.

So it was a fun time. Gotta do it again. Maybe later in the week. In the afternoon.

GO DEEP!

Raelen's Suka Day

Happy birthday Raelen!
It was a great dinner.

She woke up just when we were all leaving. So that means someone's going to have to stay up with her at least until she falls asleep again.

She missed her entire birthday party and all the kids running around screaming.

Some kids were even drinking coke. Hey that's an adult drink.

She's only 4 years old. Where's her ID?

There was representation from all over the world.

Holland, NJ, Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, even Timmins!
Must have been a special occasion. Or the food was really good.
