Crazy kid house

We were up in Orillia for a birthday party.
Can you guess who's it was?

When the sugar started to kick in we sent the kids outside and when they started to go crazy outside, we sent them to the woods to fend for themselves.

While outside, they played games. This was a fun one at the old and sacred indian burial ground. Playing tag around all the plots, one of the plots was a safe zone. I kept a close watch for any warring natives.

Astro sold

After 17 months of sitting in the back of his driveway, Joe finally managed to sell his trusty old 1990 Chevy Astro. He was trying to get rid of it to his family, his neighbour to anyone. But nada. Every deal he made had fallen through.
Nothing wrong with it. It was actually in very good condition considering the age of the vehicle. Rust proofed every year since he bought it in 1994. And the inside was immaculate. It needed certification and emissions. That was it. It had a ton of new parts, just so it would pass these two tests.

So now all that's left are the indentations of the tires in the back of his driveway from the van sitting there for almost a year and a half. I offered to put an ad up on Craigslist so he could sell it to a wider audience, and besides it's free. I took photos of it last Tuesday, put together the info for the ad and had it up on Craigslist on Wednesday, had several nibbles and tire kickers on the weekend and today is Wednesday. SOLD. Gotta say. The internet has certainly sped up life.

I was happy for Joe. He finally got rid of it. All I expected was a beer to celebrate the day his van drove away without him. I got the Corona, but to my surprise Joe got me a car cleaning kit.
I gotta say we have great neighbours.

Happy Suka-mamma's day

It was a mother's day surprise.
Surprise! You get it 3 days before Mother's day.
Because your son has no concept of what day of the week it is.

Three guesses as to what it is.

Wrong.
Wrong.
and way off.

It's a jewelry box. For all of mamas knock-off Links of London Ebay stuff.

Here's the matching card.
I think it's an eye.
With a lot of redness. From lack of sleep.
And waking up to an alarm at 5am every day that sounds like a fire alarm.

So we had nothing planned but ended up at Yorkdale of all places and spent the day just walking around the mall, running into Carmen and Pete and the kids, Mai and her coffee and bagels, and some filipino lady from Tresa's work that she couldn't remember her name, but she had bought two coach bags.

It was a weekend of dinosaurs.
For some reason he just wanted to paint.
So we painted.
And painted many dinosaurs. Even Rudy.
Red ones, blue ones, green ones and even rainbow ones.

It was a weekend of being 'BAD'.
You know...like MJ.

And more and more, it's like I'm looking into a mirror.
But it kinda looks like he's doing a better Captain Morgan job than I did.

And we can't seem to go through a week without getting hurt somehow. This week was at the park. And from falling backwards off the big kids swing and did a Cirque du Soleil move and almost made it. But not quite.
Good thing the gravel-sand was there for a soft landing but he ended scooping a bunch in his mouth. That I got him to use my sleeve to get the ones on his tongue that he couldn't spit out.
It didn't look this bad at first, just a lot of dust on his face and a scratch on his forehead and cheek, but when the scabs all dried that's what you see here.

We visited my parents for the first time with him. It was kinda funny. At first I couldn't remember where they were buried. Then when we found them, Kieran asked where they were. I said they are buried underneath his feet. He said, lets get some shovels to dig them out.

I said they were resting. Not sure if he understood. Because there were some little windmills that people left at other gravesites that were more interesting to a kid.

Moving on out

Nah...no one's moving. We're just getting rid of the Energy-black hole rated ancient appliances we had in the basement. They were past their time.

The stove we used back in 2002 when we first moved into our home. And same goes for the fridge. We haven't used the stove since we got our main appliances in the kitchen. These two were in the basement.

This house had 3 kitchens in it at one point in time. I think this basement one was for the overflow when there were parties and functions going on.

We'll get a newer fridge. I need one for my beers. No room for it upstairs.

But as folks read this post tomorrow they'll be on a truck to get recycled into diapers or some GM truck or the bottom of your shoes.

Jaedin's Bread, Juice and Fud

It was Jaedin's 1st Communion. That's the kid with the ring around the collar and the tie dangling around his chest in the lower left.
Who's that transient that walked into the picture in the upper right? Just kidding. That transient came all the way from Cali, via Ajax, and possibly the Philippines. Direct flight, no stop overs.

The food from the backyard was great. More salt!
I was making meat balls with bits of lasagne this morning!
