Great White North

It's almost like the IAMCANADIAN commercial.

One of the cottage neighbours helped clear a large section of ice on the lake so the boys could play ice hockey!
And the dog there didn't find the puck as tasty as the snowballs.

This dog reminded me of one of our previous dogs.
A little timid, but once you pet her a bit and show her you aren't a threat, she loves you.

Up in the sky was a UFO!
Following us as we played on the ice and snow!
It was cool following the Can-Am car.
That thing was a blast. It'll go over everything.  It's amazing it won't flip over.

It's wheels are so far to the corners of this vehicle that it's C-G makes it very difficult to do that.

That thing up in the sky was the neighbour Mike's drone.
It's huge! and also mucho dinero $$$$!
When it's battery runs down it heads for home.
Like the SpaceX rocket boosters.

That car was Sean's and he brought his Quad tractor with shovel to help clear the patch of ice.  I didn't see that, as I was lying down in the cottage taking a nap.

Kieran said he made a bench.

Still feeling fatigued from getting over the flu.
Coughing still.
I kinda wished I had brought up my skates.  But I felt like I'd do more harm to myself by not resting.

But i just didn't feel too energetic.
Although it was a beautiful day.  Glad I got out there.  I did pick up a stick and pass it about with the boys.

I probably wouldn't have lasted too long.  Got all sweaty and then ended up with pneumonia.  That's my usual trend with the flu.

Lou should get one of these things and drive it around their property up in Orillia.
Jaedin can use it to learn how to drive.

The FISH Season

This wasn't just the Fifth Season, but the FISH season.
This Snappers Fish Market team had played a complete semi-final game that sent them to the finals against Pivot.

They were ready to play.

I was feeling awful.
I had come down with the flu.  The flu shot didn't protect me this year.
I lost my voice, had chills, coughing, aches.
But I was hoping to see Kieran's team come out as Swansea HL champs.

The ice however was not co-operating.
Well more like Mother Nature wasn't.
The sun and warm spell made the area by the benches treacherous.  It made for good bloopers videos though.

The ice was certainly neutralizing this FISH's greatest asset - Speed.
The puck was slow and it was bogging down along the boards and getting buried.

It was a close game though.
A heart breaker 2 - 1 loss.
They definitely had their chances but could not bury them.

A couple of times the puck scooted across the crease, but no one could tap it in for the tying goal.

It was a clean game, they both battled hard.
It was a tough loss, since both teams played well.
But there can only be 1 champion.

There's always next season!
