Survivor Mt. Pleasant

It was a Binh and Dave's place and all the players were assembling in the meeting room in the basement.

It wasn't evident how they were going to segregate themselves into tribes, but from first glance there's the Dora-Diego DVD tribe, the Toy-train tribe, the Two-Bros tribe and the Plumber's butt tribe.

Then there was the Grade 1 tribe. But he wasn't able to pass the first immunity test and conked out about 10:00pm. We found him passed out on the couch. Curled up in the fetal position...stretched out, with the mouth open and not responding to any sound.

The Two-Bros, got voted off the island by their parents, so they were out fairly early too.

Although she is the youngest member of Survivor Mt. Pleasant the Plumbers-butt member was hanging in there till the end, but mommy brought her upstairs to her bed. She was ready to go down.

Her brother was on the basement couch and hanging off the edge, not far behind in terms of hitting the sack.
The immunity challenge of sliding up and down the stairs must have took it's toll on the siblings.

In the end it was the two 2 yrs & 5 month olds left in the final to battle it out. Who was going to outlast the other.
The DVD tribe member was using the bottle and the lucky piece of cloth to keep her in the game, and the Toy-train member was thinking the kiddie couch was looking pretty comfy too.

They were both getting pretty glossy-eyed and oblivious to what was going on, and not responding to their parents. I guess it was because it was way past 12:00am.

But in the end the chair, although too small, was a way better place to be for the Dora-Diego DVD tribal member.

The Toy-train member was still going, although beat, was intent on looking for the kitty cat.

But within minutes of getting in the car to head home, he was lights out.

Baka's Sukaday

It was year number 69 for Kieran's granny, baka, oma, stellamama. You name it, that's her.

For all the young'uns out there, the number is no long a fun one when you get up there in age. It's meaning less except that it's one before 70 and one step closer to Depends.

Kieran was looking forward to chocolate cake. He expects there to be a chocolate cake since there's been one at the last few birthdays we've been to. BTW he knows. Instead we had apple strudel which yummy in my tummy.

Summer Sunset

I saw an orangey-red maple leaf on the deck at the cottage the other day. Just a sign that summer's at an end and fall is coming around the corner on the heels of summer.

We celebrated then end of summer with a BANG!
We had fireworks.
That one on the right was a biggie!

Kieran made a birthday firecracker out of them after they were used up.

And of course cerveza for anyone who could produce ID. We were carding the underage folks.

How many? Uno, dos, cinco, diez, VEINTE! Woo HOO!
Notice the eyebrows. I did my best to get them as high up my forehead as possible. I just can't do it like the pro-fessional.

It was a fight to the end. Summer was ending, and naptime was way past due. But the great fight was ON!

In the end it was a losing battle.
Fall will be here soon.
