Look, Papa, I did it!

This was a week of firsts.
Kieran put on his clothes for school all by himself.

I instructed him to go put on his clothes that Tresa had laid out for him on the couch, while I went and got the trailer hooked up to the bicycle. I told him that if he wanted to go by bike instead of the car he had to help me by getting himself ready while I got the bike ready. So he said - 'okay'.

I was thinking that he would be calling me for help, but when I came back in, he was fully dressed and ready to go. I was impressed.

It was only after I dropped him off to school did I notice his shirt was inside out and backwards. And it was after school when he came home did we realize that his underwear was on sideways. Don't know how he did it, and I could only imagine that it was slightly uncomfortable and a little problematic to go pee with your underwear on the way he had it.

But he didn't complain. And his pants were dry, so he had no problem going to the washroom.

So I've been letting him dress himself every morning. And so far, I don't know how he does it. But everything is on backwards. At least he'll know where he's been.

I let the teacher and the assistants know that his clothes are on backwards. But they say - that's okay.

Santa's Helpers

Man wasn't it just Halloween a few days ago? Now it's Christmas.
Anyways, Islington Nurseries was having a 6-11pm madness sale or something.
Anyways they were having a Santa and helpers and stuff so we went.
Good thing it was indoors, cause the weather was madness. It was pouring rain outside just when we arrived.
Charlene one our neighbours was an elf there. So everyone on the street had to go.

Well little boy have you been a good boy this year?
I think Kieran's face answers that question, eh?
Can you say 'bah, humbug'?

I think there was a photographer from a local newspaper too. Taking pictures of the store displays, people dressed up and all little kids.

He noticed that together that Yahvi and Kieran were really smiley and happy looking kids. But as the photographer went to take their picture. There was only 1 kid saying cheese. The other turned into the Grinch. I don't get it. He looks so good in photos when he smiles. He says cheese every time I take his picture, but if it's someone else. Forget it.

Check out this train set. It's huge. Mucho $$$ too.
Guess where we spent most of our time while at the nursery.

Good thing there was large plexiglass barrier between the kids and the train.

Whenever Santa came around, no matter how much candy he had. The kids (Aliya, Yahvi and Kid grinch) were looking at him like he was Godzilla (or Godjira in japanese). I guess old dudes with beards are scary to kids.

Even Sam couldn't bear to look at him, he was afraid too.

However they liked this Santa. He wasn't scary at all and Kieran wished for trains and Yahvi wished she didn't have to eat food to survive.

We didn't make it to the Toronto Santa Clause parade today, I know that Kieran wanted to see the floats. But we didn't get around to heading to Christie in time to see the floats. We'll go next year.

But this indoor one was a good option. There was hot chocolate, and cookies and popcorn.
And don't forget the christmas moose.
