It's all about the Freebies!

There's a dragonboat festival going on?

So if you want to really be someone else, you can actually be someone else by coming to this tent here and filling out an application.

You can be anyone you want to be. And better yet, you get a free gift for changing your identity. It's a win-win situation.

I spy with my little eye, something that starts with an "B".

It could also be an "L" too. This was the B-Division community final at 9:10 am. It was an early start, but we got a parking spot and it was fairly tame at the ferry.

Except for this guy.
I think Edwin had way too much tim horton's coffee this morning. Or he had so much sun on the first day that his eyelids dried up and won't close.

And it was super early for Dave.
Here he was asking me if he'd missed any spots shaving.

Being surrounded with so much meat, Christina was beginning to bonk and hallucinate from a lack of food.
She was talking to bags like they were talking back.

Papa's day

It was a hot, humid and sticky day.
I took Kieran for a bike ride down by the lake to watch mama during her dragonboat practice and see some friends.

After a long bike ride it was time to cool off.
He had his sippie cup, but I guess the hose water was more refreshing.

So I set the hose so it would trickle out and not come out like a jet. And Kieran could play with the water.

Is this a future fireman?

On Saturday we were downtown with Anne and Antonio, and I picked up this Croatian flag that you can attach to the window of your car for 10 bucks. The guy was trying to sell me one of those huge flags for 5 bucks. He said he'd bought too many.

We took the flagpole down last fall, so too bad.

It was FIFA time. Kieran is 1/4 Croatian and 1/4 Slovenian. That makes him 1/2 Filipino and 1/2 Slo-Cro.

Philippines aren't in it. They don't know where Germany is. And you can't get there by raft.
Slovenia didn't make it. So, his only choice...

Croatia vs. Japan.
final score 0-0

Well at least no one lost.

Okay, enough with the game, gimme 'nana.

Happy Father's day.

We was Wong'ed

This was Kieran's first time as a participant of a Dragon Boat regatta. He was an honorary member of the Wongs.
But it was almost like we were a part of a protest for the homeless. It was the middle of June and it was freezing cold.
We should've started a bon-fire to keep warm.

And for some of us it felt like we had been there all night. Like Suzanne. She was beat.

She could've used some Tim Horton's brew.

Dave was so into the spirit that he only brought the shirt on his back and that's it. Which is why he's got Suzanne's Scooby Doo blanket. She's gonna have to wash that thing on the washer's 'Sterilize' setting.
Make sure there's no skid marks after it comes out of the wash.

Then it was Eddie's turn, he was even starting a petition to help the homeless.

While Andy was editing the pre-nupt he was given, because he has nothing. He was calculating how much stuff he could get just in case he got the boot and ended up being homeless himself.

Then it was time to bring in the Police! Cuz we was ROBBED of the championship!
After posting the fastest time of the day and winning all of our heats and decisively winning the final race.

Hey even the local newspaper reporter was convinced that since we'd won the last race of the day, that we were the Cambridge Riverfest champions for 2006.

She was congratulating the team and interviewing Helen and even took our team photo to post in the local paper.

But you see, the organizers weren't coming over to congratulate us and hand us the champions prize. They gave us 3rd place overall. We were all stunned.
Caroline was tapping her heels 3 times and whispering to herself "there's no place like Chinatown, there's no place like Chinatown."
I think she thought it was a bad, bad dream.

All you have to do is look to the Olympics to see how a proper race is done. It's not the fastest time in the heats that determines the winner. It's the winner of the final heat, because that should be the top three qualifiers.

After arguing our case, it was up to us to take it on the chin and take the high road home. I think these organizers were in the sun too long, cuz their brains were a little fried.

Well maybe the Wong's Imperial Dragons will still be listed as champions in the local Cambridge paper anyways. I didn't see the reporter around anywhere to hear the final results.

Daycare Break Episode 2

I am innocent! They got the wrong baby! I was framed. It wasn't my loaded diaper they found. I have an alibi. I didn't eat corn that day, or at least 12 hours before.

Soon enough I'll be on the outside of this locked door.
I've got a plan to escape and to be free! I've got a map crayon'd to my belly. As long as they don't give me a bath I'll be on my way outta here!

This is my chance. They didn't see me scale the hedge.

I did it! I'm free!
There's no looking back now!
I'm going to Disney Land.

Okay, I'll cut you a deal. You can have 1/3 of the baby food. And 1 extra diaper a week.

And you can have my sippie cup.

Okay I'll release this hostage BUT I want to negotiate on my terms!
I want a plane fueled and ready to fly to Orlando, Florida. And I want enough size 4's for 3 months and size 5's for 10 months. And make sure there's banana-apple, turkey-vegetable and peach baby food!
And it'd better be organic. None of this non-organic crap!
It gives me gas.

And don't forget to load the plane with wet wipes.
