Golden Child

I got this from Teen.
what's with the golden sheen around your kids head man.
I don't think it's the immaculate conception or anything, but I'd check your camera or printer for accuracy of the colour.

You can calibrate the colour on your printer. Read the manual on how to do it. Don't be calling me on what to do.

You're lucky you have such a cute kid and wants to be in the great outdoors. Must take it from the NON-filipino side of the family.

Tresa wants the pumpkin photo of Liam. See how much we love your kid. So take him outside!

Anyways Happy New Year!

The printer is calibrated. I don't know what the sheen is. It might be the tan he got from sunbathing. Plus, we do take him outside. Can't you see the tree in the photo behind him?

He does love the outdoors. Just yesterday he was pressing his face against the glass door in the kitchen. Then again, maybe he was trying to escape the mess in the kitchen that Teen made.

We tried calling you last night to wish you happy new year but I guess you guys were out partying.

Happy New Year!

Let's be politically correct: Seasons Greetings

Ah, what the heck. Let's be daring - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

We have had a pretty good christmas holidays. Lots of food, lots of kids and more food and more kids and even more eating. I think I've gained about 5 to 8 lbs just from eating. Tresa says she really feels pregnant now. She thinks she's really popped out. I think I've popped out. We've got lots of left over turkey and stuffing and soup (oop we finished the soup). We even had leftover lichon and cuchinta but the lichon is gone, too bad Teen you missed a good pig. I think there was even ube. I seem to remember some purple food.

It never seems to fail we always get a white christmas. This year we got a white and cold Christmas and a wet new year. Shovelling was tiring. Santa should bring me a snowblower for next year. HO HO HO hold the payments.

Well an update on the baby. I'll have to put up a picture (front, back and side - I remember Jen). We're are at 6-1/2 months now and still going strong. Especially the snoring. Oh ya, it's the baby that's snoring, everything that is loud, burping and odourificus is the baby (must take from my side: except for the loudness). Ya think I'd sleep through this easy since I can sleep through a train passing our campsite by about 80 ft. But for some reason the snoring just wakes me up. Surprised it doesn't wake her up. Guess pregnancies put a cone of silence around the mother, except for the nose and mouth.

Tresa feels good, actually very good, this has been a good pregnancy for her. She's very happy, skin looks good, always in a good mood. She's enjoying her pregnancy. She says that she could stay pregnant. I think it's because it's comforting, plus we're still pretty mobile right now and the kid isn't screaming or crying or throwing up stuff.

Well whatever happens in the near future, the baby has been a great gift to us. Better than any spa or pedicure or even a big screen LCD tv! Not sure what the feeling is like, but she's way happier than when they open the doors after waiting for hours in the cold and finding all the great deals at the Umbra sale, or when she finds some designer stuff at Winners for a fraction of the retail cost at Sears or Holt or wherever. She says the baby is like a warm feeling inside, like a warm hot water bottle.

Happy birthday to O-wah.

Happy 60th birthday to Tita Puri!

where's the cake?

All I see is Filipino food. Can you see what's missing?
Jen forgot the rice! No wonder there wasn't a line up to eat at the buffet table. People were confused. What do we do? Can't eat menudo with no rice? That's a sin. That's okay Tito Roger was there to break out his 40kg spare bag of rice that he carries in his jean pocket. You know that indentation that was made by his wallet being there for 50 years. He fills it with rice now.

And as a tradition for every family gathering, everyone prayed in front of of the 50" big screen tv. No it wasn't the crystal cathedral and the Hour of Power, but the Bourne Supremacy. Not sure why it was subtitled in english.[Bang], [Wheeze, cough, sputter, evil spy dies]. Wait rewind I missed that. [Bang], [Wheeze, cough, sputter, evil spy dies].

Here's the final jeopardy question: How many filipinos does it take to operate the remote to watch a movie? Ans: Hey wait, Dan's not filipino. Answer your question?

The other white meat

Jen and Dan's new house with the super-clean stove. No grease splatter or anything. Even the pots are still silver. For some reason they were dusty. And I noticed the spatula had no bits of egg burnt into it.

But the numbers 9-6-7-1 were all worn out on the phone. And the yellow pages were open to "Take Out".

Is it spinning clockwise or counter-clockwise?

I dunno, but Jade and Ryan have both been hypnotized into thinking that they are happy kids.

See, what I mean!

Who you guys trying to kid?

Alive and kicking

5 months and 1 week. Tresa's just beginning to feel the baby kicking. Or was it me trying to recover some room on the bed. No no, I'm sure it was the baby. It was snowing that day and I guess the baby was trying to get my ass out of bed before the snow got worse. Well it was too late. It was a white and slippery on the way to the office that monday morning.

And the snow kept coming down. No matter what, I always seem to wait until the first snow fall accident filled day before I put on my snow tires on my car. I think the news had indicated that there were 150+ accidents that day. And it was pretty slick on the roads. As I was waiting for the bus at the three way stop I was watching the cars and trucks set off their ABS brakes.

And as always, the snow doesn't last. It poured like crazy the next day. Now I was just worried about it freezing and turning to ice. Doesn't matter what kind of tires I have there's nothing preventing the slip sliding.

Who's Playing the Guessing Game

So will it be pink or blue?
Will the baby arrive April 20th or March 29th?
Will it be a morning baby (5:30 AM) or an evening baby (6:45 PM)?

Some important facts:
Tresa's due date is April 17th.
This is her first kid.
This is my first kid.
Tresa's eating well and feeling pretty good. I have a picture of her with a bag of Guacamole Doritos on the couch.
She's reaching the limit of her stretchy pants.
We're almost the same weight (at 20 weeks 4 days).

She does light some cardio in the morning: ie. I'm LATE! Waddle fast to the bus stop. Or I get up to drive her to work.

She also does some cardio and weights in the afternoon: ie. walk to Winners at College Park and lift the clothes and bags and pants off the racks.
