Establishing a routine

We came to NJ to lead by example and encourage physical fitness. And have fun doing it. Right Liam?
"Rrrsht"
We were going to go out to the park and play and have fun.
But first every morning me and the boys would have breakfast, to have energy to exercise and play.
Even my cousin was getting on the bandwagon and exercising. Good for her! We are so proud.
Look at the look of disbelief on her son's face.
We were all surprised. But impressed. Keep it up.

Only in America

Boudreaux's Butt Paste. Sounds like a (French) Canadian product, but I don't think it's Canadian. But apparently it's legendary. We got this for Kieran's diaper rash. But I found that after sitting around a lot, I get a diaper rash too.
Can you guys read what it says?
* Goes on and cleans off easily
* Treats and protects
* Pleasant scent

So is the pleasant smell before or after application?

Back to the Promised Land

Well we managed to make it back to Woodbury Common over at I87 & route 17. In Woodbury/Monroe county. This is the main reason we come and visit our NJ cousins. We spend the whole day here. Kieran enjoyed the ride. He slept most of the way. And was even smiling as he slept. Must have been dreaming of 2 for 1 sales, or 90% discounts and tax free shopping. I think he gets that from his mom. You'll see their smiles are very similar.
These are the gates to the Tresa's Graceland.
Ever see the movie Amelie? Remember the gnome and how the father kept getting postcards and photos of the gnome from all over the world.

Quit yapping and take me to the stores with food.

Salvatore Faragamo, Kenneth Cole, Kate Spade, Elie Tahari, Betsy Johnson, Celine, Giorgio Armani. Sounds like a foreign student e-vite party list. I wouldn't know whether they were clothing lines, bags, shoes, this or that. I just asked Tresa.
Unless it's Nike, Gap, Adidas, Diesel, Williams-Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, or McDonald's I wouldn't know what stuff they had in the store.
Hey look Alfred Hitchcock lives.
I walked in, but everything on sale was a size 52 and up. Guess you had to pack on 200% before getting the 90%.

We went in this store, I didn't know what they had but Tresa told me it's a high end kids clothing shop. We found a pair of pants for Kieran but it cost more (at 50% off) than all the clothes I have on put together. Including my fruit of the loom.

In this next series of photos, Tresa's going in and out of stores like she's Alice in Wonderland.
Which one goes down the rabbit hole?
None. They all go down the old pocket and burn a hole through it.
But Tresa just likes to window shop so this is really her cardio. Like the Karate Kid. Open door, close door.
The good thing was that she came out without any shopping bags.

NYC Babysitter

Here is our first trip to NYC with Kieran and everything else that he needs. Diapers, wipes, change pad, stroller, Baby Bjorn, etc. It was a bit tough getting out of the house because our schedule really depends on this dude. He decided to sleep in so we got a late start. Which was okay. We kind of wanted to see what it was like going into NYC with a kid. It was harder than just the two of us, but not impossible.
Kieran's first train ride. Seeing that I'm an engineer an all. He seemed really excited.
This was our american roomate. We met her during our first travels in Thailand. Now we can't get rid of her (just kidding). She's now our volunteer NYC babysitter. He tested her out by sneezing on her and drooling down her arm. She said it was nothing, so that was good. Wait till he pees and poops on her.

This is just outside Columbus Circle station. A lot of NYC is not stroller friendly. There weren't any ramps to make the station accessible. Good thing our Maclaren was light. Not sure how we'd fare with a big a$$ Graco, or Bug-a-boo. Even the stores were tough to get around. I don't know how the handicapped folks with wheelchairs get around. Tresa saw a lady in a wheelchair being helped up the steps by 3 guys. It's funny because there are handicapped entrances or gates down in the subway, but the ramps are no where to be seen.

From the 4th floor of Time Warner Center, there were seats overlooking a balcony with a view of Central park. Believe it or not, someone was even using that statue as a throne. Good thing he didn't try to flush.
And there's a garbage bin way in the back of the photo, that I used to stuff a couple of dirty diapers.
Happy after a poop and a feeding. Not necessarily in that order.
The view of Central Park. Tresa and I were talking about how we don't really have anything this scenic in Toronto. We were trying hard to think sights to see in and around TO. Other than the CN tower, Casa Loma, what else is there?

He was so excited with the view that Kieran had to take a nap.

Not sure if you can see this but there's a really upscale bar just behind us and a steak place on Tresa's right. The thing with the 'V'.
And that bright looking thing on Tresa's right is a piece of art with a sticker of $22,000.00 USD.

We made it around NYC okay. But as always were were maxing out our time and rushing to cat the train. With the kid in the stroller sleeping away, Tresa and I were zooming down the stairs and ramps and escalators trying to catch the train. Then as we caught the train, getting a seat that can handle the space for the stroller was another matter.
We noticed overall that while riding the subways, and the train, people were pretty helpful, offering us their seats and helping us out with Kieran, chit chatting with Kieran. It was tough hauling a baby around, but overall it was pretty pleasant, people were friendly on the subway, offering us their seats and helping us out since we had Kieran.

The highlight of my day was a coffee and a hot fudge brownie at Macy's. YUM! I would have taken a pic, but Tresa had my camera.

Road Trip

This is our first long road trip with Kieran. We were coming to visit his American cousin Liam. It was a pretty good road trip. We took a few more breaks than we'd like to, but Kieran had to feed and he had to be changed. Plus he was getting restless in the car.

Pretty soon after a few more visits he'll be able to fill this chair. And he'll have both socks on.
Hey what's that kid doing in my chair?
Hey someone didn't shave this morning. What the heck man, major razor burn.
Me an my wrinkly shirt and the family unit.
After dinner group shot. Everyone ate so much none of their pants fit.

We had a routine of doing pilates in the morning before we did anything the rest of the day. We're trying to get the american cousins to make this a daily habit. Hopefully they can do it without any losing a tooth or breaking a rib. Or more realistically, we hope they just do it.

Baloney Hole

See the one guy that doesn't belong? hint: think immigrant.or hip-poo-poo-tamoose.
It was his birthday on Monday Aug 22.
So all you doctors, prescribe one of his drugs to a patient in his honour. For all those presentation dinners, golf games and all those times he laughed at your stupid jokes.

Happy Birthday FEZ!

What about Bob?

It was a pretty busy week with my family. All the Timmins people were down trying to remember what it's like living in civilization.
Me hanging out at Uncle Bob's.
Maddi still doesn't know how to associate with other humans. She thinks she's a sled dog.
Hey lady, what's with the iron grip! you're crushing the crown jewels through the diaper!
Diana's been working out.
Something stinks and it ain't my diaper.

I think they should get Camryn checked for narcilepsy.

Oops! Uncle Bob should turn the filter on HIGH! Watch out for floating corn.

Welcome to the Pearly Gates

Sorry for the long wait between blogs. It's been really busy lately. We had the christening, we had the cottage, work has been crazy. Well not really crazy, but it's been a transition for me. Trying to figure out which direction to go in. Who to contact. What to do. Dis dat and dee odder ting.

But here we are at Holiday Gardens. Not much of a holiday, but at least it didn't rain and the kids had a lot of fun.

Hey who you calling a nose picker?

The other white meat. A little bit of dark meat, but still white meat.
Is this really crack?
Really, this is all free Ninie! Said auntie Diana.
A free for all at the desert table. Where'd all this asians come from?
Hey man, that baby's picking his nose.

Quit picking your nose or I'll crush your head.

This guy's got really long nose hairs. Get me outta here!

Hey he was good, he didn't stick his finger up his nose throughout the the whole thing.

And this isn't all of us either. Somebody's gotta take the picture.

Her side.

Mostly my side. And just the kids.

Mama is watching closely. Don't stick the finger up the nose.
Look to the light. The light is good. Follow the light.

Baka and Dedek.
He looks like a puppet. Sort of like Chuckie.
You sure that this is cocaine?
I'm so ashamed. Please don't watch me eat.
